Screwjob - A Play by Step Taylor

Early in the month I received an interesting job in the form of documenting a play written by Step Taylor called "Screwjob". The play starred Step Taylor and Leah Holder, my cousin, and was directed by Lee Kinney. It was presented a the Charlotte Street Art Centre on January 4 and 5th, and may I say it was wonderful, great job from all those involved. Here is the poster.

Now on to the photos, I had never really done anything like this before but was very interested in getting into this world. I didn't take photos during the play as to not disturb the process, rather we set up scenes after the fact and I captured them. I haven't been able to get the images to the people involved as of yet but I wanted to post my top picks out of the multiple that were taken. In the end the people involved may like others that I don't pick (and if your reading this I will be sending you high resolution pictures very soon), but I picked these based on my preferences as a photographer. 

To make sure I took full advantage of the lighting in the area I shot without flash at 1600 ISO and then edited out the noise in Lightroom, I believe it turned out great, now on to the pictures.

Images Lost In The Mix

I have no idea how I didn't post these last year, these we're some landscape and nature shots from Bloomfield, New Brunswick I took around the beginning of December. I was visiting my mentor, James Wilson, a wonderful person and a great photographer. The shots below I took when out shooting with him, the one of the tree I took after our meeting on the way home, it just caught my eye on the side of the road, enjoy.

I also tried to do an HDR composite, but I'm not a big fan of the outcome, HDR just looks way too fake to me, but here is my result.

Model Mayhem, Great Site To Find Models

A little while ago, one of my mentors Eric Boutilier-Brown suggested a website to find models on, http://www.modelmayhem.com/ . So I signed up, it's a great resource and I just did a shoot with my first model contact, Lee Ann Dussault. Shoot went great and for some of the more glam type photos I did some skin softening technics.

Loominations - Karen Leblanc's Work

Here's a selection of the work I shot for Karen Leblanc, a local artist that creates amazing woven wall hangings. Her studio is called Loominations. It was an interesting shoot, I had to adjust the lighting for almost every shot and it was a trick to hang each piece and have them hang straight. In some cases it just wasn't possible, but I didn't include those shots on here, none the less I was extremely happy with the outcome of this shoot and look forward to working with Karen again sometime.

Happy New Year with Some Previews

Though I have a huge update of work coming up next that I did for the wonderful Karen Leblanc of her wall hangings, I thought I'd just take the time to wish everyone a Happy New Year and tease a few images from my steampunk series. I'm pretty sure the series is going to be called "Windows on a World of Steam", but that could change as I think about it more. Since the images are huge I just crop a little teaser selection of my two new images, they don't show much, but are hopefully interesting.
