Hair and Make Up Style Photos!

My most resent shoot took me to a new area in fashion photography, hair style and make up. In this shoot I was photographing for Hair Stylist Amanda Orchard and Hair Stylist/Make Up Artist Billy Peterson. Some hair styles are Amanda's and some Billy's, all make up was done by Billy. I'll label all info before each set.

That's the whole of the selected photos, I had a lot of fun doing this and hopefully in the future will be able to again. I even got to try out a cool lighting technique which worked really well for this. I found out the setup here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoZ2yJHXV1Y from Karl Taylor Photography. I might not have the same level of gear, but I think I got it pretty close, big thanks to that tutorial.

That's all for now!

Made To Measure - NBCCD Gallery

Another great show on display at the NBCCD Gallery right now! This one features work from some of the talented Fashion students. Made To Measure should not be missed in person!

My images can only give a taste, it's up to you to see it in person to really take in the details

Nature Trust Project Wrap Up

Well, I'm not sure I talked about it much, but I was working on a project with NBCCD and the Nature Trust of New Brunswick. The idea was to visit the various Nature Trust preserves and create a piece of art based on your experience there. It was open to any NBCCD student in the 2012 year, I graduated in 2012, but qualified as the project started before that point. So after a couple of field trips I was ready with what I thought was a nice array of work. I did both standard shots and pinhole shots. I went with the pinhole and decided to apply some interesting surface to it with acrylic paint and gels. Unfortunately my pieces did not make the cut, but I would like to present them here for your viewing.

I won't be revealing my other pinhole works just yet, as some will be in my show this November. But I would like to present my straight photography from this project for your viewing pleasure.

I hope you enjoy these sights and please make sure to visit The New Brunswick Museum in Saint John to see the selected pieces from the other students.

Some Older Work Forgotten

In all my blog posts last year I never got around to talking about my small gear related project. I had some leftover watch gears from my Steampunk project and had done some macro shots for a logo of them. The logo never passed but I liked the shots and wanted to do something with them. I had acquired a large box of old frames as well. So after some Photoshop work on the gear pictures and painting the frames I created a small series of images I may do more of someday. Here for your viewing is the Gear Project.

That's all for this post!

Calendar Issues Update

My dear friends, followers, clients and fans. As you know I've been working with Harbour Con-Fusion over the last few months to develop a cosplay calendar for 2013, to help raise funds for the convention that same year. I regret to inform everyone involved or interested that said calendar will not be ready before the end of the year. We have had some major setbacks concerning the last few shoots for very legitimate reasons and have also run into a temporary road block on the final design and printing of the units this year. However, all is not for ill, I will be continuing to finish shooting throughout December and into January and we will have a final product ready for order in late January too early February at the price of 20 dollars. The calendar will be relabelled for 2014 and hold it's original content as photographed this year. This will give us much needed breathing room for final design and sales of the units. Thank you everyone for your support and I hope you will stuff find interest in this project and help support the charities Harbour Con-Fusion donates to. Look for an update on the images once shooting is done and for some interesting news for the new year.
