Artist in Studio - Bronwen Robbins

We were a bit rushed during this shoot, so unfortunately I don't have much for photos. I used my location lighting setup for this, I'm pleased to announce I'm about half way done on a tutorial video about how I achieve my quality of indoor lighting. On to the images first though.

That video will be the subject of my next blog post, look forward to that as it will also be launching the video section on my site and my new Youtube channel!

Studio Work - Modelling

Some new modelling work from the studio. Again this is a model I found off of Model Mayhem, I can't stress enough how get a resource that site has been. My model is Tiffany Hunter, she was great to work with and very eager to try more creative poses as she works toward furthering her own modelling career. Here are my top picks from the shoot.

I used Lightroom's skin softening tool and took out back ground elements that needed cosmetic lifts, like the big black marks on the studio floor, in Photoshop. The lighting as always is shot in camera.

New Work For Gallery Connexion - Put Your Heart Into Art

This is the other event I shot  for Gallery Connexion this past weekend. Put your Heart Into Art is a fundraiser event where local artists donate pieces of work to be received by ticket buyers. The ticket buyers throw a dart at a balloon wall, each balloon has a number that links to a piece of donated art. Very cool idea! Here is collection of shots I took at the event, lots of darts flying in the air!

I really hope they do this again next year.

New Work for Gallery Connexion - Hoot & Peep

Here is a collection of resent images I've done for Gallery Connexion. This first set in this post is from Hoot & Peep, a series of performance art that was done in conjunction with the Charlotte Street Art Centre and Gallery Connexion. For an entire week, twice a day there was a different performer in the window of the Owl's Nest Bookstore here in Fredericton. The theme was based around sexual themes and open discussion of the subject. Very interesting and thought provoking pieces. I was only able to capture 3 separate performances, I'll list the names of the performers over the images below.

WhiteFeather Hunter

Megan MacKay & Candace Mooers

Amanda Jardine

I really hope they do more of these is the future, it's a cool idea.
