The Textile Arts of Ali Keely

This is the shot I did this past weekend, it features the work of a very talented textile and fibre artist, Ali(Alexandra) Keely. She has both fine art pieces and production work, the shoot features both. I'll start with the production, I did both a full shot and then some close up details, the marco lens is well worth it's weight in gold for these shots.

It is extremely important to work with the artist to meet their needs, if I hadn't asked I may have missed a critical shot and would have had to reshoot. And now the fine art pieces. Detail shots are extremely important but also one must make sure to capture all angles, especially on three dimensional pieces like these, unless the artist says not to shoot certain angles or sides.

That gives you a little run down of the session process and what shots to make sure you capture if you intend on doing this work yourself.
